Congress and travel scholarships for the 27th ICPM World Congress by the International Foundation Psychosomatic and Social Medicine (“Ascona Foundation”)
The International Foundation Psychosomatic and Social Medicine offers 8 scholarships for scientists from low and lower-middle Income Countries to participate in the 27th World Congress of the International College for Psychosomatic Medicine in Tübingen from 19th to 21st September 2024.
The Foundation also offers 3 scholarships for participants presenting a relevant talk on Balint group work.
You can apply
- If you are working in Medical Studies, Psychology or another subject relevant to the topic of the Congress “Advancing Psychosomatic Medicine in a Challenging World”.
- If you currently live and work in a Low or Lower Middle Income Country as defined by the World Bank (see list of countries: https://datatopics.worldbank.org/world-developmentindicators/the-world-by-income-and-region.html) – for the 8 scholarships for Scientists from Low and Lower Middle Income Countries
or
have submitted an abstract relevant to Balint group work – for the 3 Balint scholarships. - Only participants with an accepted abstract are eligible for scholarships.
- We especially encourage colleagues from Ukraine to apply.

CARUS Foundation congress and travel scholarships for the 27th ICPM World Congress
The Carl Gustav Carus Foundation for Psychosomatic Research offers 14 scholarships for Early Career Scientists to participate in the 27th World Congress of the International College for Psychosomatic Medicine in Tübingen from 19th to 21st September 2024.
This includes 6 scholarships for Early Career Scientists from relevant disciplines (e.g., Psychosomatic Medicine, Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatry, Family Medicine) from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which cover the congress fee plus a 300,- Euro grant for travelling expenses.
Early Career Scientists from other countries are offered 8 international scholarships covering the congress fee plus a 500,- Euro grant for travelling expenses. The trip to Tübingen and the overnight stays have to be organized individually.
You can apply if you
- are a pre-doctoral or doctoral student or Post-doc (within first four years of employment after having received your PhD) or Resident (MDs in training within first five years after becoming MD). Expansions of these time criteria are possible allowing for e.g. parental leave times – please briefly outline in your application if applicable.
- are working in Medical Studies, Psychology or on another subject relevant to the topic of the Congress “Advancing Psychosomatic Medicine in a Challenging World”
- actively participate in the congress, for example have submitted an abstract.
